    Made this chart about natural disasters while literally in a state of emergency.  What’s most telling is that the number of natural disasters since 1996 costing $1 BILLION or more (90 events) nearly doubled compared with the previous 15-year period (46 disasters). As Eric Pooley, senior vice president of the Environmental Defense Fund describes it, “Now we have weather on steroids.” Oh, and if you haven’t read Paul Barrett’s excellent story and seen Richard’s excellent cover, you should.
