Made this chart about natural disasters while literally in a state of emergency.
What’s most telling is that the number of natural disasters since 1996 costing $1 BILLION or more (90 events) nearly doubled compared with the previous 15-year period (46 disasters). As Eric Pooley, senior vice president of the Environmental Defense Fund describes it, “Now we have weather on steroids.”
